After some years crewing on everything from commercials to live event to multi-camera comedy and film series, Heather’s producing career began with a groundbreaking film -‘Where the Spirit Lives” – the first drama shattering the silence on “Indian” residential schools. Besides winning BEST TV movie, a slew of other International awards followed. This title continues to touch audiences everywhere.

producing MOWs , series and mini-series for 20 years as a co-owner and Producer in Screen Door for National and International distributors and broadcasters.. This period gave her the opportunity and pleasure of producing across Canada and collaborating with some of Canada’s top writer-creators, directors, cinematographers and cast including William Shatner, Christopher Plummer, Jason Priestley, Helene Joy, Fiona Reid, Charlotte Sullivan and many more.

Released by Sony Picture Classics- and by Mongrel Media in Canada. An International co-production with Ireland’s Parallel Films and Aisling Walsh (Director), Maudie received seven awards in the 2018 Canadian Screen awards including BEST PICTURE, BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN DIRECTING and BEST PERFORMANCES for Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke. Maudie continues to bring festival notice and ongoing critical praise- everywhere.

Setting up her solo producer shingle as H-Is4 Production in 2017.On the Development slate for this new venture are features with the same authenticity of voice as Maudie and an evolving list of series with great showrunners and writers. Besides development, International co-production and the puzzle of putting creative and finance together now keeps her up nights and attending, sometimes virtually, International markets.
